Greeting and Announcements

Call to Worship: (Responsively)

Pastor: By grace we have been saved through faith.

People: This is not our doing but the work of Christ on the cross.

Pastor: Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so has the Son of Man been lifted up,

People: so that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

Pastor: We praise God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

People: the eyes of our hearts on the cross at Calvary.

~ WE OFFER OUR ADORATION & CONFESSION ~

Prayer of Adoration

Prayer of Confession (Unison)

Adonai, we wander in the wilderness, impatient with you even when you rain bread upon us. We surround ourselves with serpents, playing with them and then complaining when they bite us. We hide in the darkness, telling ourselves that we are standing in the light. We are quick to condemn people, send the world to hell, even though Christ has come to save us all. For his sake, forgive us. Lift us up. Rescue us from the fiery serpents. Lead us back to the Promised Land. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith – “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; The holy catholic church; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the Body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.

BIRTHDAY FUND. Several years ago, the Birthday Fund was established to raise funds to use in our community mission outreach. Each birthday celebrant was to donate a dollar for each year celebrated. Please consider donating to this gracious fund when you celebrate your birthday. Feel free to designate your gift.

LITURGISTS (LAY READERS). Pastor Buddy is always looking for a few good men and women who will assist in the worship service as lay readers. If you can breathe and read then this is a great way to contribute to the worship of God. Just pick a Sunday, sign up (sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway), and everything is provided for you.
