~ WE GIVE ADORATION & CONFESSION TO GOD ~
Prayer of Adoration
Confession and Words of Assurance
We recount your gracious deeds, O LORD, your praiseworthy acts. You sent your Son to embrace poverty and humility so that he could rescue us from the devil and the power of death. We are in awe of the saving name, but still we sin. We focus on losing weight, but we neglect to strengthen the soul. Even so, we continue to offend you. We slaughter the innocent. We harm others so we can hold on to our power. We sit back and do nothing while others commit shocking violence. We fail to take care of creation. You have renamed us, but we live according to the old names, Adam and Eve. We put Christmas in the attic or garage long before the twelve days are over. We are full of doubt about the New Year, not trusting that you will be with us. For the Infant’s sake, forgive us. Make us newborn. Amen.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; The holy catholic church; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the Body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.
