Pastor: Jesus stands among us and says, “Peace be with you.” We look at his hands and feet;
he eats broiled fish in our presence.
People: He opens our minds to understand the scriptures. Through Christ we are called
children of God.
Pastor: When Christ is fully revealed we will be like him.
People: He is what we shall be. Alleluia!
Prayer of Adoration
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
God of the Covenant, repeatedly we have rejected Christ, have handed him over to death. We have denied him, betrayed him. People deceive us away from you. You open our minds to understand the Scriptures, but then we snap our minds shut. You make us witnesses, but we close our eyes. We are guilty of lawlessness. For the sake of the Risen Messiah, forgive us. We repent and turn to you so that our sins may be wiped out. Amen.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. The Presbyterian Church and the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville will co-host an old fashioned “tent revival” (without the tent and folding chairs) to be held Sunday, April 25 through Wednesday, April 28 at 6:30 PM each evening. The theme of the revival is “Restore Our Joy”. The services will alternate between the churches beginning with the Presbyterians (Sunday), Methodists (Monday), Presbyterians (Tuesday), and concluding with the Methodists (Wednesday). Rev. Schmidt will preach at each Presbyterian service and Rev. Dr. Wheat will do so at each Methodist service. Special music and light refreshments are planned for each night. Come and re-discover your joy! Bring a neighbor!
