Announcements June 2018

elder & greeter for the month:  Elder Betty Bartlett

The Lord’s Supper will be observed during this morning’s worship service.  All who have joined with Jesus Christ through their baptism as well as children who have been instructed by their parents are welcome to participate.

The ANNUAL CHURCH SHOLARSHIP PICNIC will be held this afternoon at 4:00 P.M. at Fauntleroy Park.  Everyone will be contacted with what they can bring.  This has always been a fun activity so please join us as we acknowledge our college-bound student with a scholarship for their expenses.  Bring a friend or neighbor.  IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE PICNIC WILL MOVE TO THE CHURCH.

The men’s Breakfast has changed the designated time to the FIRST Wednesday of each month.  Therefore, they will gather Wednesday, June 6 at 8:00 AM at Rancher’s Steak House.  All are welcome – bring a friend/neighbor.

The SESSION will meet 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 6 in the Fellowship Hall.

The PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN will meet at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 12, in the Fellowship Hall for the Bible study and lunch (location TBD). All ladies are welcome.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) will be June 18-22, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  The theme this year is based on sports. The Friday session will be held at the city pool and the youth choir will perform during the worship service June 24.

The Ladies’ Evening Bible Study will meet June 20 at 7:00 P.M.  Bring a friend or neighbor.

The Annual Church Trip to Mo-Ranch Conference Center is scheduled for June 29 – July 1 with a big turn out that includes several families that have never experienced the Guadalupe River area of Hunt, Texas. A Saturday evening devotional will be observed by all attendees and a Sunday morning worship service at the outdoor chapel will be conducted with Holy Communion.  The participating will meet at the church parking 9 AM to load and convoy.  Any questions should be directed to Elder Gail Johnson, 865-4388.

LITURGISTS (LAY READERS): Pastor Buddy is always looking for members who will assist in the worship service as Liturgists (lay readers). It should be an honor and privilege to read God’s Holy Word in public. If you can breathe and read then this is a great way to contribute to the worship of God. Just pick a Sunday, sign up (sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway), and everything is provided for you.

Several years ago, the BIRTHDAY FUND was established to raise funds to use in our community mission outreach.  Each birthday celebrant is asked to donate a dollar for each year celebrated.  Please consider donating to this gracious fund when you celebrate your birthday.  If you desire you may designate your donation to support special missions by noting that on the check.
