November Announcements

The Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper will be observed on Sunday, November 3 during the worship service. All who have joined with Jesus Christ through their baptism as well as children who have been instructed by their parents are welcome to participate.  

Big THANKS goes out to Zonnell Haynes owner of Haynes Jewelry. Once again he has generously donated free of charge the small hanging plaque for the 2019 Scholarship Picnic Tournament. Be sure to look at the plaque hanging in the foyer, and see the winners for 2019! The chain is getting really long. What GREAT memories it represents.

Donnations are being collected for FOOD FOR FAMILIES in the box in the Narthex.  Although more food can be purchased with cash, all donations are greatly appreciated.

men’s & ladies’ Breakfasts. The Men and Women of the Church will gather November 6 at 8:00 AM at Rancher’s Steak House, Wednesday. All are welcome – bring a friend/neighbor.

SESSION MEETING. The Session will meet Wednesday, November 13 at 7 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN. The Ladies will meet at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November12, in the Fellowship Hall for the Bible study and lunch TBD.  All ladies are welcome. 

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. The Annual Congregational Meeting will convene November 17 following the worship service for the purpose of receiving and approving the slate of nominees to the Class of 2022 to the Session and the Nominating Committee for 2020. Other business will be discussed so it is important for all members of The Presbyterian Church to be present.

CHURCH DINNER. Everyone is invited to the monthly dinner, Sunday, May 19 immediately following the worship service. Our hostesses are Lissa Derrick, Beverly Billings & Crew. Please join us for great food and warm fellowship. Bring a neighbor.

 “HANGING OF THE GREENS”. Immediately following worship on November 24, those wishing to help “green the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas are invited to gather in the Sanctuary for a short reflection and prayer service before the decorating. When complete a light meal will be served. Please join us in preparing for the church for the special observance as we await the Christ Child. Thanks to everyone who would help in this endeavor. 

 “Thanksgiving Eve Service”. A special worship service will be held Wednesday evening, November 27, 6:30 P.M., to usher in Thanksgiving Day. This short worship service will emphasize prayer and all that we have to be thankful for. Please join your Brothers and Sisters in Christ in offering praise and thanksgiving to our Gracious God and bring someone with you.

 “Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan”. The worship service on December 1 (1st Advent) will remember and pay homage to the Church’s Scottish ancestry with a “Kirkin’ O’ the Tartan. All members with Scottish family ties are invited to wear their family tartan.
