ELDER & GREETER FOR THE MONTH: Designated Elder Betty Bartlett
VACATION. Pastor Buddy will be taking vacation September 26 through October 11. The Wheat’s are traveling back to Scotland to see what they may have missed last year. The Reverend Stephen Schmidt (Pastor, First United Methodist Church) will provide emergency pastoral coverage during his absence and can be reached at 254-865-2520 or 817-565-8713.
THE LORD’S SUPPER. The Lord’s Supper will be observed during today’s worship service. All who have joined with Jesus Christ through their baptism as well as children who have been instructed by their parents are welcome to participate.
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN. The Ladies will meet at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 8, in the Fellowship Hall for the Bible study and lunch TBD. All ladies are welcome.
SESSION MEETING. The Session will meet Wednesday, October 16 at 7 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
FALL CLEANUP. Our beautiful church and grounds need a good spruce up prior to the winter season. If you are able to help please join us Saturday, October 19 at 9:00 AM with your gardening tools and cleaning materials. If you are not able then come and provide moral support.
ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. The Annual Congregational Meeting will convene October 20 following the worship service for the purpose of receiving and approving the slate of nominees to the Class of 2022 to the Session and the Nominating Committee for 2020. Other business will be discussed so it is important for all members of The Presbyterian Church to be present.
CHURCH DINNER. Our monthly dinners are starting up again and everyone is invited, Sunday, October 20 immediately following the Annual Congregational Meeting. Our hostesses are Gail Derrick and Gail Johnson. Please join us for great food and warm fellowship. Bring a neighbor.
LITURGISTS (LAY READERS). Pastor Buddy is always looking for a few good men and women who will assist in the worship service as lay readers. If you can breathe and read then this is a great way to contribute to the worship of God. Just pick a Sunday, sign up (sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway), and everything is provided for you.
BIRTHDAY FUND. Several years ago, the Birthday Fund was established to raise funds to use in our community mission outreach. Each birthday celebrant was to donate a dollar for each year celebrated. Recently the funds have been used to assist people getting back on their feet after a tragic fire, American Cancer Society, and for Senior Night; therefore, the funds are very low because our birthday folks have forgotten to donate. Please consider donating to this gracious fund when you celebrate your birthday. If you desire you can also designate your donation to support special missions by noting that on the check.
